How to Compose Your Handheld Footage

Composition and hand held

Another great hand held trick is to be careful what you place close to the 4 walls of your frame. If you have small objects or other details directly on, or very close to the 4 walls of your frame these objects will amplify your camera movement. You should try repositioning the 4 walls of your shot to include consistent colors or larger objects. This will cause shake to look less noticeable. Again, this is because most often the audience will notice the shake in this part of the frame, rather than small movements within the center of the frame.
